Devotion of Faith
Socrates is also a well-known person that was devoted to their faith and beliefs. He was accused by the Athenian government of denying their gods, Socrates was offered the choice of abandoning his beliefs or die by drinking a cup of hemlock. Staying devoted to his faith he gladly took the cup and drank the hemlock. Showing that many people are devoted to their faith and they rather die than abandon their beliefs.
People throughout history have challenged believers of every kind and their beliefs. In the painting of, "The Christian Martyrs Last Prayer" the Christians are gathered together and are praying to their god. I chose this painting because it is an accurate representation of devotion of Christianity. Even in danger the Christians are looking to god and searching for guidance.
Perpetua was one of the many people that truly had a devotion of her faith. She was placed in an area and sentenced to death. But, as the wild animals were released Perpetua grabbed a sword and killed herself. Showing that she rather die in her own hands than by any wild beast.
